Air conditioning & cooling system service

When the A/C blows warm in July or the temperature gauge starts climbing, you want it looked at properly. We recharge, repair and maintain air conditioning systems and service the cooling system that keeps your engine at the right temperature.

What's covered

A/C & cooling work we handle

A system that keeps losing its charge usually has a reason. We look for why before recommending a fix, so you're not paying for the same recharge twice.

Common reasons people call

Signs of an A/C or cooling problem

These are some of the signs that bring drivers in. None of them fix themselves — and most are cheaper to deal with early.

  • 01A/C blowing warm

Or cool at first, then warm after a few minutes.

  • 02Weak airflow

The fan runs but not much comes out of the vents.

  • 03Noise with the A/C on

A new rattle, squeal or grind when the system kicks in.

  • 04Running hot

The temperature gauge climbs, especially in traffic or pulling a trailer.

  • 05Coolant leaks

Puddles, a sweet smell, or a reservoir that keeps dropping.

  • 06Steam or overheating

Pull over safely and call — don't keep driving an overheating engine.

In detail

Heating, A/C and cooling work together

Your heater, air conditioning and engine cooling share parts and affect each other:

  • A/C that's low on refrigerant usually has a leak. Finding it comes before refilling
  • On many vehicles the A/C runs in defrost mode to dry the air on the windshield, so it matters in winter too
  • A heater blowing cold air often points to the engine cooling system
  • A climbing temperature gauge: pull over safely and let the engine cool
  • Coolant type and change intervals come from your owner's manual

For example, in the Mazda3 owner's manual, pressing the windscreen defroster switch selects outside air and turns the A/C on automatically. Source

Why proper diagnosis matters

The right fix starts with the right answer

01 · Find the cause

Test, don't guess

The same symptom can come from several places. Testing narrows it to the part that's actually failing.

02 · Explain it

Know what you're paying for

You'll hear what we found and why it matters before any work goes ahead, with upfront pricing.

03 · Fix what's wrong

No parts cannon

Replacing parts until the problem goes away is expensive. Diagnosis first keeps the bill to what's needed.

FAQ

A/C & Cooling Systems questions

More answers on the main FAQ page.

Do you service car air conditioning?

Yes — A/C recharge, repair and maintenance.

My A/C worked last summer. Why is it warm now?

Common causes include low refrigerant from a slow leak, an electrical fault or a failing component. Diagnosis tells us which, before any parts are ordered.

My engine is overheating. What should I do?

Pull over somewhere safe, turn the engine off and let it cool. Don't open a hot radiator cap. Then call the shop at 604-793-9310.
